The year began with many feeling they were “Bad and Boujee,” and everyone chanting, “I don’t dance now, I make money moves.” Whether you couldn’t escape “Despacito” or “Gucci Gang,” the year had many unexpected hit songs that made us sick of hearing but somehow, we knew all the lyrics without realizing it. When I reflect on this year in music, I look back on songs that remind me of fond memories and tunes I played until I began to hate them—from pop to indie rock. I found something great within all genres.
