A Trip to the wndr museum

Chicago has gained many popular pop-up museums in the last few months, including Refinery 29’s 29 Rooms, Happy Place and now wndr museum.

Wndr museum’s theme bridges science and art in a series of artist-decorated rooms of microscopic vision and cosmic wonder. The science infused Instagram worthy space has a full 19 installations including one of Yayoi Kusama Infinity Room.

I attended wndr with my 11-year-old niece, Simone who drags her feet typically whenever the word “museum” is mentioned. However, she was extremely eager to experience the experimental installments.

One of my favorite rooms would be the optical illusion of big and small simply by the way the room was designed and the placement of where we stood. Just goes to show you, science has a place on Instagram (I’m not very good at explaining science).

Before we entered the museum, we were asked to pick a piece of yarn of many different colors. Towards the end, we understood why we were asked to make this choice and based on the color we choose, we received a card with an explanation of our aura.

And the last perk would be we got free candy at the end.

Enjoy the rest of the pics from our time at the museum.

The wndr museum is at 1130 West Monroe Street, Chicago, and is on view indefinitely. Tickets are $32.
