The Best #IfSlaveryWasAChoice Tweets

I know you’re looking at the title of this post, shocked and appalled. So imagine how many felt when Kanye West went on TMZ and stated these words:

"When you hear about slavery for 400 years ... For 400 years? That sounds like a choice."

He continued with, "You were there for 400 years and it's all of y'all. It's like we're mentally imprisoned."

This is shortly after coming forward with supporting extreme Black conservative Candance Owens, Donald Trump, and Men’s Right Activist. Many believe this is all a publicity stunt, but I ain’t never seen an artist shoot themselves in the foot to sell an album before.

We could justify his “free-thinking” supporting Trump since he’s a rich person living in a bubble, but to say slavery was a choice is downright offensive. Our ancestors didn't have a choice to opt out of slavery and to say that the black community is still in the mentally imprison, shows how far removed he is from society. If I didn’t know it, I’d think Kanye West was a new Fox News anchor. Perhaps if the album doesn’t sell more than pixie dust, he has a spot on the channel as a commentator.

Shortly after the episode aired, Twitter first became outraged (rightly so) and then Black Twitter took it upon themselves to find the humor in it all after the initial shock.

I wish Kanye nothing but the best in his kareer. I hope he gets help, but he is kanceled from this point forward.

But let’s laugh at all the humor out of this.
