The Met Gala is the Oscars of the Fashion World. The Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Art Museum in New York is the biggest event in fashion fundraising of the year. Founded in 1948 by Eleanor Lambert to encourage donations from New York’s highest elites. In recent years the event partners with American magazine Vogue and the biggest stars in fashion, music, art, and film come together to raise money. Each year the night is centered around a theme of the upcoming exhibit, former themes such as Manus x Machina and Punk: Chaos to Couture to China: Through the Looking Glass. This year will be Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination which will be held on May 7.
