Before I went on vacation, literally nothing was going on in pop culture other than rap beefs and the ridiculousness that is Koonye West. I knew going on vacation would be easy to step away from here but…nah, everything happened! 

Drake dropped the video for “I’m Upset,” and it was perfect. As a Degrassi fan, I was delighted to see Emma, Liberty, Spinner all together with wheelchair Jimmy. The video was a high school reunion for the former Degrassi star, and it gave me all the feels. 

The love whirlwind that is Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson feels like the Nickelodeon version of Bennifer. May 9, Ariana confirmed she was no longer dating rapper Mac Miller after dating for two years. As an Ariana onlooker, I knew that homegirl doesn’t allow flowers to grow under her before she jumps into her next relationship, so I knew it was only a matter of days before she confirmed who her next bae was. Sure enough, by May 14, it was rumored that Ariana was dating SNL player Pete Davidson. They were both seen having matching clouds tattoos on their fingers. June 2, Pete gets two more tattoos referencing Ariana, and everyone was thinking,“yoooo, didn’t they JUST start dating?” That was nothing because by June 11 they were engaged. Probably by the time this post has gone live, they have eloped in Vegas. I’m sure we all can agree this will TOOTTTALLYY work out for the two.

While I was flying back to America, typical Beyoncé releases her joint album with Jay Z Everything is Love. The album follows up Beyonce's Lemonade and Jay's 4:44, two records that documents accusations of the rapper’s infidelity and the collateral damage it dealt with their relationship. I’m literally on the tarmac, scrolling through Twitter when I noticed everyone tweeting about it. Now I have to use my free trial Tidal subscription and listen to the album. It was too much for me to handle especially with 56% battery juice on my phone, but I still downloaded Tidal and listened to three songs before the app killed my battery. The video was beautiful as it depicts historical art pieces in the gorgeous Louvre museum while showcasing the beauty and power of black bodies, unapologetically and reclaiming the space that once rejected our existence. 

Tiffany Haddish never ceases to disappoint me whenever she gives interviews. I love a celeb who drops hints what it’s like in Hollywood and every interview, Tiffany gives us just that. In her profile with The Hollywood Reporter, she confirmed who bit Beyonce (It was Saana Lathan), Roseanne is indeed a racist (we been known that) and how she hit on Leonardo DiCaprio.
