I do not want to get ahead of myself and believe 2021 will be any better than 2020, but already, it’s off to a great start.
Come January 30th; Lifetime will air ‘Wendy Williams: The Movie.’
First off, what I love about this movie is the lack of effort in the title. ‘Wendy Williams: The Movie’ gives us nothing. Purple Chair Shares Her Story, Loud Mouth Wendy, The Queen of Radio, etc., there are so many options out there, and they just went with name and what kind of Pictionary topic it will be.
The movie looks perfect. I don’t know who Ciera Payton is, but already, I’m loving her portrayal of Wendy. And judging by the trailer, the movie will cram in all of Wendy’s most epic moments, including the legendary Whitney Houston interview, her rocky relationship with estranged husband Kevin Hunter, and the iconic Halloween fall heard around the world. If there’s one thing Wendy knows how to do, is bring the tea to the party.
This pandemic hasn’t been easy but it’s nice to know we have one thing to look forward to. Thank you, Wendy, for knowing when to give us the entertainment.
And Wendy on the Masked Singer still gives me serotonin through the thick of it all.
