Although it’s actually March 120, 2020, we are technically heading towards the end of the summer. It’s definitely one of the most memorable summers in all the worst ways but most artists delivered some great songs that helped ease all the anxiety and created at home parties/vibes. Here are some of my favorite songs that will always remind me of this crazy summer.
WAP - Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion
It’s been a while since Cardi released any new music and boy did she deliver with one of the most talked-about songs of the years. If there’s one thing Cardi is going to give us, is exceptional visuals! Also, multiple lines that will be on everyone’s Tinder bio.
Like That by Doja Cat feat. Gucci Mane
This was supposed to be the song of the summer but due to some internet drama it didn’t make waves in the way “Say So” did. However, there’s no denying this was a certified bop.
“the 1” by Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift not only released one of her best albums in recent years but she also stopped Kanye from releasing trash so no matter what, I will consider her a queen. “the 1” is my favorite song off of “folklore” and I’m ready for pumpkin spice lattes and sweater season.
Ok by Wallows
“Ok” is a song I wore out most of the summer to keep me sane. To remind myself that everything will eventually be “ok”.
“Ungodly Hour” by chloe x halle
One thing Disclosure is going to do is give some of their best productions to Black artists and “Ungodly Hour” is exactly like that. The album with the same title shows Chloe x Halle’s growth personally and musically and this is one of the stands out from it.
